Excursion from Como to Brunate by cable railway

Brunate is a very popular, small holiday centre. At the arrival from Como, on the left is an incredible panorama of lake Como, while the alpine arch and the Brianza with its lakes may be admired from the large square behind the station.

Many trips depart from Brunate: just 2 km way is Saint Maurizio, where in 1927 the Voltaic Lighthouse (a 29 m. octagonal tower), visible by most of Lake Como, and from which opens a very vast panorama of the Alps and Mt. Rosa.

Since November 11, 1894 , this cable railway reach the village of Brunate from the Como station, in the immediate vicinity of the lake. A journey traced in a straight line on a hillside slope with a slope of 55% on a 1084 meter track, runs at 6 minutes only.
